BPL players' draft programme held on Saturday

The players' draft programme for recruitment of local and overseas cricketers for the upcoming franchise-based T20 tournament Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) was held at hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.

All the seven franchise teams have completed players recruiting formalities during the auction for the shortest version tournament scheduled to begin on November 2 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, reports UNB.

Barisal Bulls were ousted from the tournament as the team didn’t pay the fees, curtailing the team number of the tournament to seven.

Franchise team Rajshahi Kings picked up national sensation and cutter master Mustafizur Rahman, the only local player in Grade A+ ($60,000), who became a free player with the termination of Barisal Bulls.
