Bangladesh clinch gold in Int'l Karate Championship

Team Bangladesh clinched several medals, including one gold, in the first International Goju Ryu Karate Championship held recently in India’s Jaipur.

All India Goju Ryu Karate Federation organised the four-day long karate meet from 23-26 November at Scholars International, said a press release on Sunday.

Hafsad Islam secured gold in senior’s 84 kg category, while Md Easa won silver in senior’s 67 kg category. Shahddat Hossin, Md Shajahan, and Tasin Khalashi won bronze respectively in senior’s 87 kg category, senior’s 61 kg category, and junior’s 61 kg category.

Koyshi Khaled Monsur Chowdhury, General Secretary of South Asian Goju Ryu Karate do Federation, also the first Vice President of Asian Goju Ryu Karate do Federation, received special prize for the development of the game in this region.
