Arambagh Krira Sangha smartly reached the final of the Independence Cup Football Tournament for the first time eliminating Premier League runners-up Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 1-0 goal in the first semifinal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city on Monday, reports UNB.

They will play final against the winners of Chittagong Abahani and Rahmatganj MFS, which meet each other today (Tuesday) at 4 pm at the same venue. In the day's first semifinal, Jewel scored the match-winning goal.

Arambagh KS, which managed a quarterfinal berth as the Group D runners-up, came to limelight shocking Bangladesh Premier League champions Dhaka Abahani Limited by 3-0 goals in the 3rd quarterfinal last Friday. They again proved their worth reaching final beating Sheikh Jamal DC 1-0 goal on Monday.

Chittagong Abahani Limited reached the semifinal of the Walton Independence Cup Football eliminating former champions Sheikh Russel KC by 4-2 goals in the 4th and last quarterfinal while Rahmatganj MFS moved to the semis beating Farashganj SC by 1-0 goal in the 3rd quarterfinal.
