This year’s Taipei International Electronics Industry Exhibition TAITRONICS successfully ended in Taipei, Taiwan
The exhibition was organised to create a platform for great set of innovations around AIoT, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things.
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA) organised the exhibition from Oct. 11 to 14 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1.
400 manufacturers showcased the latest electronics industry technology and next generation products, attracting more than 74 countries nearly 16,000 domestic and foreign buyers and industry visited the event, says a press release.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Ming-Hsin Kung, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced the successful accomplishment of Taiwan ICT industry and government’s determination to invigorate domestic collaboration with Southeast Asia countries. “TATRONICS successfully leads Taiwan electronics industry into another wave of paradigm shift as it enters the 43rd edition.”
Mr. James C. F. Huang, Chairman of TAITRA, unveiled the themes and highlights of TAITRONICS 2017. “New Technology, New Applications” is the main theme for this year’s event, which comprises 10 show areas including Energy-Efficiency Solutions, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Living & Consumer Electronics, Broadband Products & Cloud Tech, Cells, Batteries & Power Supplies, Industrial Process & Automation Equipment, Electronic Components & Parts, Active & Passive Components, Meters & Instruments and LED Lighting & Applications. Key exhibitors are Cheng Uei, Chroma, Compal, Excel Cell Electronic, GW Instek, Inventec, KING DESIGE, Lite-On, Protech, TATUNG, Tenmars and more.
Mr. James C. F. Huang addressed, “In addition to key leading Taiwanese companies, exhibitors from India, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and China are also exhibiting to infuse their creativity into the show. Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology of India has made great connection with TAITRONICS for several years. They not only organize a National Pavilion again this year, but also lead a delegation to visit TAITRONICS.” Besides India, Japan and Korea also coordinate national pavilion to display this year.
For the first time, TAITRONICS invites international well known accelerators such as Garage+, TSS, Innoventure Startup Club Taipei and TRIPLE, all together of 14 innovative local and international startups. Such participation demonstrate not only how the TAITRONICS platform has integrated the electronics industry chain but also how it has become the optimal platform for building diverse, disruptive applications and innovative tech solutions.
In sync with Big Data, IoT and AI technology trends, TEEMA has invited the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and the Asia Pacific Industrial Analysis Association (APIAA) to showcase the achievements of a wide range of cross-industry smart applications in the AIoT Pavilion, such as smart agriculture, smart transportation, smart retails, smart medical and more. Further, to drive innovation and to facilitate creative alliance in different industries, the first Smart Innovation Application Award contest has been organized. 12 winning products will be on display during TAITRONICS.
Including AIoT Pavilion and the Startup Pavilion, there are six feature pavilions not to be missed. All the Pavilions focus on the latest worldwide topics and technologies, including Smart Devices and IoT Application Pavilion, Cloud Computing Association in Taiwan Cloud and IoT Pavilion, Green Technology Living Certification and Made in Taiwan Product MIT smile mark appliance Theme Pavilion.
In addition to displays, a series of forums and seminars will be held during TAITRONICS. Topics of the forums and seminars will focus on IoT handheld smart device, smart cities, wearable devices, automobile technology and LPWAN. Through prospective insights, high tech professional forum activities, and inspiring industry talents, TAITRONICS is able to promote innovative research and development of the new generations.
The highlights of the exhibition include new age technologies and innovations. Compal launched “BOOSTFix”, the use of lightweight electronic protractor that automatically tracks the measurement results, the doctor can edit the commonly used rehabilitation exercise, and assigned to the designated patients, the patient can be in accordance with the system and movement awareness.
In its bid to solve the parking problems – NISI Industrial R&D “NBIOT / CAT-M1 highlighted the Wireless Intelligent Parking System”, using accurate geomagnetism sensors to determine whether the parking spaces are occupied or not, and with the telecommunications company’s base station as a receiver.
Lite-On Technology showcased its “LITE-ON Smart City Street Light” using the popularity of street lamps to street lights for the installation of sensors, photographic lens, wireless network and a variety of wireless communications Modules.
In the future, the solution can also incorporate air pollution monitoring, intelligent traffic monitoring, urban safety and even river water level monitoring, to help the government to do better urban services, so that the city’s life is made more convenient.
In addition to the advantages of the supply chain in the middle and lower reaches of the electronics industry in Taiwan, this year’s electronic exhibition has led to the combination of artificial intelligence (AIoT) and Internet of Things (AIoT) innovation and development.
“AIoT Intelligent Life Experience Museum” showcased the intelligent manufacturing ecosystems, intelligent agriculture, intelligent education, intelligent transportation, intelligent retail and other cross-domain applications, during the exhibition to attract a large number of domestic and foreign buyers attention.
As far as domestic manufacturers are concerned, this year’s TAITRONICS attracted enthusiastic participation from mainland China, India, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore exhibitors.
The Indian government once again set up the “Make in India National Pavilion” at TAITRONICS, and held a trade association summit between the Taiwan and India Industry Link Summit Forum.
The Japan Radio Promotion Association got together six EMI / EMC solutions and related materials manufacturers. The Japan Pavilion organized local exhibitors from Akita Prefecture, Japan.
