Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park opens Sunday

Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jessore  is set to start its journey on Sunday aiming to generate employment opportunities for around 12,000 youths.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate it on Sunday morning through a videoconference from Ganabhaban in Dhaka.

The Software Technology Park targets 10 districts under Khulna Division where IT industry entrepreneurs would get chance to make investments.

The park will facilitate operations of software development, freelancing, outsourcing, call centre, research and development.

Project Director of the park Jahangir Alam said allotments were given against some 55 companies including two companies from Japan in the main building of this park.

Apart from this, he said, an entire floor has been allotted against the youths free of cost to launch "startup companies".

Survey Engineer of the project Abdullah Al Mamun said following the announcement of Prime Minister, the construction of the IT park began on February 2013 at Bejpara in Shankarpur area of the town with an expenditure of Taka 3.05 billion.

The park will have a total of around 232,000 square feet space with all the modern facilities.

According to BSS, it will have a 15-storey MTB building, 12-storey five-star standard dormitory building, state-of-the art convention centre and underground parking.

Each of the floors will have some 14,000 square feet space.
