Ramadan-related search on Google starts rising

Ramadan-related search trend on Google has started to rise again as millions of Muslims across the world have started fasting from sunrise to sunset today, marking the start of the holy month.

As always, it witnessed a sharp increase one week before the fasting began this year too, a trend analysis of the last five days showed on Wednesday.

The related search generally reaches the peak in the first week of the holy month and then drops steeply.

The trend analysis shows that the United Arab Emirates expressed its highest ratio of interest in the Ramadan search followed by Qatar, Senegal, Morocco and Bahrain.

Indonesia, the inhabitant of the highest Muslim population in the world, is ranked 33rd in the Ramadan ration of interest.

Bangladesh, the fourth-most Muslim populous country, is 15th in this ranking.
