Kaspersky introduces ‘Safe Kids’ for parents to monitor children online

Kaspersky brings relief for parents

In a country where digital transformation is embedding itself fast, parents have enough to worry about their children left to fend for themselves for lack of any tool to monitor them on the virtual world.

Following a recent hype of Blue Whale game surrounding the brainwashing of a girl to end her life in Dhaka city, social media were rife with parents’ worries about their children.

Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission went to ban the game raising awareness across the country.

The High Court even went further to slap a ban on cheaper internet package offers after midnight, believed to be pushing children to digital risks.

But preventing children from access to the internet can never be a solution. Rather, creating awareness and security online can keep the children safe.

Considering this, Kaspersky has come up with ‘Safe Kids’, a security tool to monitor children’s communications on Android phones, tablets and Facebook in Bangladesh.

The Moscow-based multinational cybersecurity provider’s marketing office in Bangladesh, Office Extracts, announced this at a press conference on Wednesday.

Office Extract chief executive officer Prabir Sarker said, “... Safe Kids is going to be a revolutionary product or tool for parents to keep their children safe.

... To keep an eye on them. To mentor them against the bad influences of the net. It is a relief for the parents.”

What Safe Kids can do

Safe Kids keeps children away from digital dangers. It guards against online risks, helps manage a child’s device usage time, and keeps parents posted on the child’s location real-time, alerting the parents on mobile phones if the child crosses a specified safe zone.

The digital security tool helps monitor a child’s public Facebook activity, android calls and SMS messages. It is one package that can help you in protecting and monitoring your child in a digital world.

Kaspersky says Safe Kids will have a support channel where parents can consult on this product and how to effectively use it. In the coming months, they will be campaigning hard for the online security tool.
