Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, as a part of its ongoing programme, awarded scholarships to 1500 underprivileged meritorious students on Friday.
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, SM Moniruzzaman handed over the scholarships to the students as the chief guest at a ceremony at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh auditorium, Dhaka, says a press release.
Arastoo Khan, Chairman of the Bank, Major General (Retd.) Engr. Abdul Matin, Chairman Executive Committee, Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Chairman, Audit Committee and Prof. Md. Sirajul Karim, Director of the Bank addressed the function.
The programme was attended by Prof. Dr. Md Nazmul Hassan, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Md. Joynal Abedin, Md. Mizanur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Qazi Shahidul Alam and Syed Abu Asad, Directors.
Presided over by Md Abdul Hamid Miah, Managing Director and CEO, Md. Mahbub ul Alam Additional Managing Director addressed the welcome speech.
Deputy Managing Directors, top executives of the Bank, students and their guardians attended the function.
