Body skincare is as essential as face skincare

Skin is the largest organ of our body, and it doesn’t stop at our chin. The skin type of our face is the same skin type of our body.

We can spend months fine-tuning our face skincare routines to find the exact combination of products that give us feeling our glowing best, and when it comes to body care, we scrimp and cut corners on quality and sustainability.

Our neck and hands can get sunburn as our face, shoulders and back can be prone to breakouts and body acne.

Our face skin type is similar to our body skin type, which means if we reach for skincare to treat dryness or sensitivity on our face, we should go through with the same skincare for the rest of the body.

The easiest way to make our body skincare is to focus on our shower time. There is a saying that beauty begins from inside. What products we apply are as essential as having a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water because it can make a big difference in the health of our epidermis.

Step - 1

The skin needs cleaning the dirt, sweat, perfume, lotion, and sunscreen. The skin must be free from dirt and residue for skin care products to absorb; it must be a blank canvas. We need to use a gentle cleanser or a body wash and avoid harsh chemical-based soap or cleansers.

Step - 2

Our skin sheds dead skin cells often. We can use an exfoliant or scrub to get rid of rough or dead skin. Try the sugar, peppermint, and olive oil home-made scrub:

Make a coarse paste by combining 1/4 cup olive oil, 1 cup brown sugar, and 15 drops of peppermint essential oil. After cleaning the skin, we need to exfoliate our body with this paste for 2-3 minutes once a week.

Step - 3

This step is for those who have a routine for shaving. Shaving is also another form of exfoliating. Use a gentle razor and a shaving cream. Replace your shaving razor with a new one after using it a couple of times.

Step - 4

Hydration prevents the dryness of our skin. Use a moisturiser or a hydrating body lotion. Many of us think it is necessary to use only in winter, but our skin needs hydration every season.

Step - 5

The last finishing touch, apply sunscreen on the portion open to the sun. Using a dry body brush can promote blood flow. Use products containing AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and retinol for healthy skin.

Fragrance and essential oils can cause inflammation of our skin. Always protect the skin when there is cold outside. Eat well and get enough sleep for beauty.
