Abul Kasem’s fifth death anniversary today

Today (November 10) is the fifth death anniversary of Md Abul Kasem, a former high official of Defence Finance (Army).

Abul Kasem, DAFC (Retd), died on November 10, 2015 at his residence in Sreerampur of Badalgachhi Upazila in Naogaon. He left behind his wife, three sons, three daughters, nine grandchildren and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

He is the father of Md Jahangir Alam, senior sub-editor of the country’s leading financial daily The Financial Express.

On the occasion, a milad mahfil and qurankhani will be held at his son Jahangir Alam’s residence in Dhaka after Asr prayers today.

His relatives, friends and well-wishers have been requested to attend the programme and pray for the salvation of the departed soul.

Abul Kasem joined the then East Pakistan Comptroller and Auditor General Office. In his long and successful career, he served in various capacities as a first class gazetted officer at Defence Finance (Army) and the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh (CAG).

Abul Kasem, DAFC (Retd), was also deputed in civil administration and discharged his duties with utmost sincerity.

As a patron of education, he was the chairman of Sreerampur FK High School for two terms after he went on retirement from the government service. He engaged himself in various social and humanitarian works.
