21 dolphins die after attack by 'rival gang'

At least twenty-one dolphins were killed and washed up on a beach in northern Mexico after attack by another species of the marine mammals.

The federal environmental protection agency said that 54 dolphin came onshore in the area. Workers attended to the dolphins and saved 33 of them, but 21 died.

The agency has said that they were short-beaked common dolphins. Marine experts believe the attack by a group of bottlenose dolphins provoked the mass beaching.

Photos released by the agency show dozens of dolphins washed up on the rocks and lined up in the sand, overseen by white-coated personnel, reports AP.
