Zafar Iqbal supports quota reformation to protect FFs’ honour

Renowned writer Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal has said that quota reform is needed to protect the honour of freedom fighters.

"The quota ratio in our country is not appropriate," said the Professor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Monday.

Zafar Iqbal was talking to reporters at Dr MA Wazed Miah IICT Building on SUST campus, reports UNB.

"There has been anger among people over freedom fighters' quota. Freedom fighters, their children and their families are being humiliated," he said.

"We must remain alert so that no one can disrespect them. Quota reform is necessary to secure the honour of freedom fighters," he said.

He also said, "Quota is given for promoting backward communities. The quota ratio should certainly be rational and consistent."

Zafar Iqbal also condemned the police attack on protesting students at Shahbagh in Dhaka.
