Youth put on remand for threatening US ambassador

A Dhaka court on Monday granted three days remand for interrogating a person in connection with a case filed for issuing threat of blowing off the car and office of the US ambassador in the capital.

Police produced the arrestee Rajib Uddin, 30, before a Dhaka court with a prayer of seven days remand to this end. But, the court granted three days. 

A squad of Cyber Security and Crime of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Rajib from Satbaria Village under Pangsha Upazila of Rajbari district on November 4 following receipt of an allegation through e-mail, reports bss citing an official release.

Police seized a mobile phone set from his possession.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestee confessed his involvement in issuing the threat using the phone, he added.

A case was lodged against the arrestee under Digital Security Act in this regard.
