A youth was electrocuted at Kalikapur under Madhobpur upazila in Habiganj on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Tareq Mia, 14, hailed from the village.
Locals said the incident took place at around 2:00pm when Tareq was handling a water pump in a paddy field in the village.
He was sent to Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital, but the duty-doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Habiganj Sadar Thana Easinul Haque confirmed the incident.
