A teenage girl has committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at Baurbhag Dakkhin Kucharai village in Jointapur upazila of Sylhet district.
The deceased was identified as Krishna Biswas, 17, daughter of Taronnyo Biswas of the village, reports UNB.
Sub-inspector of Jointapur Model Police Station, Pradeep Roy, said being informed by the family members of the victim police recovered the hanging body of the girl around 3:00 pm on Thursday.
The body was sent to Osmani Medical College and Hospital, said the OC.
However, the reason behind her suicide could not be known yet.
An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
