COX'S BAZAR, Sept 07: Speakers at a seminar on Monday said tourist town Cox's Bazar will be developed into a well-planned modern city. To reach this goal Cox's Bazar Development Authority (CBDA) is implementing different development programmes.
The seminar was arranged marking the World Habitat Day 2019.
The theme of the day was "Frontier technologies as an innovative tool to transform waste to wealth."
CBDA Chairman Lt Col (retd) Forkan Ahmed presided over the seminar.
The CBDA chairman said to develop the town, extension work of two lanes of the Cox's Bazar main road will start in next December. The development authority has given permission for 248 building plans.
Government officials, public representatives, social leaders and local journalists took part in the seminar.
Meanwhile, our Gopalganj correspondent writes: The World Habitat Day was observed in a befitting manner in the district on Monday with the theme of 'Frontier Technologies as an Innovative Tool to Transform Waste to Wealth.'
The District Administration and Gopalganj Public Works Department (PWD) jointly organised a meeting at the district administration office conference room.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahida Sultana presided over the meeting.
