Workshop on handling aviation disaster in airports held

A daylong workshop on “Mutual co-operation in handling aviation disaster in Airports” was held at BAF Base Bangabandhu in the capital on Monday.

Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) organised the event, reports BSS.

Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu Air Vice Marshal M Sayed Hossain inaugurated the workshop, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release said.

The aim of the workshop was to identify the challenges of handling and managing actions after an aviation disaster in airports by mutual co- operation with Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).

In closing session, the chief guest, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal Ehsanul Gani Choudhury thanked authorities for organising the workshop.

He applauded the noble objective of the workshop and advised all to work together in handling aviation disaster by mutual co-operation. Air Vice Marshal Choudhury also opined that this mutual workshop would greatly benefit the concepts and practices of safety culture.

He expected that the participants with their rich experience and knowledge would be able to identify and counter different challenges of handling such disaster professionally.

Among others, representatives from BAF, CAAB and Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd participated in the workshop.
