Woman, three accomplices to walk gallows for killing husband

A woman and her three accomplices have got death penalty in a case filed over the murder of her husband in Nabinagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria district.

Brahmanbaria Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Sultana Razia declared the verdict on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The convicts are Kohinur Begum, Doha alias Duissa, Abul Khayer and Golap Mia. Among the convicts, Abul Khayer was tried in absentia.

According to the prosecution, Kohinur, wife of Shahjahan Khan of Jalshuka village in Nabinagar upazila, had developed an extramarital relation with Doha.

On December 2, 2009, she along with Doha and two others killed Shahjahan.

Later, Shahajahan's father Abdul Bari filed a case with Nabinagar Police Station.

After an investigation, police submitted a charge sheet against six people in the case.

After examining records and witnesses, the handed down the verdict and acquitted two others as allegations brought against them could not be proved.
