A woman was killed and her two children were seriously injured while a bus ran over them at Tongi under Gazipur district on Thursday.
Police and hospital sources said the dead was identified as Bithi Akhter, 29, and the injured are her daughter Tumpa, 6, and son Rafi, 3.
The accident occurred when Bithi Akhter along with her two children was crossing Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Cherag Ali area around 12.30 am on Thursday.
Police have detained the bus, but its driver managed to flee.
The injured were admitted to Sinsin Hospital at Uttara in the capital Dhaka, BSS reported.
The body was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection with Tongi Model Police station on Thursday.
