Withdraw case by Saturday: Anti-quota protesters

Anti-quota protesters on Friday demanded withdrawal of the case filed against 700 unidentified demonstrators by Saturday.

They also threatened to initiate a stronger movement if their demand is not met within the stipulated time, reports UNB.

Mohammad Rashed, co-convener of "Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad", came up with the demand at a press conference in front of the central library of Dhaka University in the afternoon.

"We strongly condemned it and demand withdrawal of the false and fabricated case by Saturday next", he said.

On Wednesday, police sued 700 unknown students, who took part in the demonstration against the quota system of government jobs in Shahbagh area, for obstructing law enforcers' duty, vandalising government vehicles and creating public woo by blocking roads.

Among others, Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the movement, co convener Faruk Hossain and Uzzal Miah were present at the press conference.
