Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Thursday lodged cases against eight businesses including petrol pumps in Gazipur and Tangail districts on charge of weight and measurement manipulation.
The cases were filed under the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 2018, according to a press release.
Two BSTI surveillance teams consisting of assistant directors Md Rejaul Karim and Sonjoy Kumar Sarkar, among others, lodged those cases against the business entities during the drives.
The businesses are:M/S Tangail Misti Mela, M/S Tangail Misti Mukh, M/SJoydurga Misti Bhandar,M/S Tangail Mistir Somaher, M/S Sri Sri Laxmi Narayan Mistanno Bhandar, M/S Hazi Filling Station, M/S Unique Tailors & Bastraloy and M/S Dhaka Tailors & Bastraloy.
