WB practice manager to visits CPTU on Tuesday

Elmas Arisoy, World Bank’s Practice Manager for Solutions and Innovations in Procurement, will visit Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The CPTU works under Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division of Ministry of Planning.

The objective of her visit is to take stock of reforms carried out in the domain of public procurement of Bangladesh.

Arisoy will hold a meeting with CPTU at 2:30pm on Tuesday, said a media release.

Director General of CPTU and Additional Secretary Md Faruque Hossain will chair the meeting.

Lead Procurement Specialist of the World Bank Bangladesh Dr Zafrul Islam will join the meeting.

Arisoy is also expected to meet Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal and Secretary of IME Division Md Mofizul Islam.

The WB practice manager currently oversees the operational procurement in South Asia Region under the Bank financed projects and works closely with the client countries in supporting their public procurement reform activities.
