Virtual courts and tribunals granted 10,681 people bail in five working days till Monday after settling 17,980 petitions.
On the last day, 1,635 accused secured bail.
The virtual courts and tribunals settled 3,138 bail petitions on Monday, Md Saifur Rahman, special officer of the High Court Division, told The Financial Express.
In March last year, the Supreme Court suspended the operation of all courts as part of the government efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Later in May, President Abdul Hamid promulgated an ordinance allowing all courts to virtually conduct their trial proceedings.
