Vietnam has sought Bangladesh's support to its candidature for membership to the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the 2020-2021 session.
Vice President of Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh sought the support when she called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her hotel suite in Sydney, Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque briefed reporters after the meeting.
Sheikh Hasina and Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh are now in Australia to join the Global Summit of Women.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hasan, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim and Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia Sufiur Rahman were also present during the meeting.
