A girl who failed in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination reportedly committed suicide by taking poison at Mayrampur village in Bancharampur upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Mim, 15, daughter of Md Selim Miah. Mim took part in the examination from Dhariarchar Haji Omar Ali High School, according to a news agency report.
The results of this year's SSC and equivalent examinations were published across Bangladesh on Sunday.
Nizam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Bancharampur Police Station, said Mim committed suicide at night by taking poison as she could not bear the pain of failure in the examination.
On information, police recovered her body.
