The University Grants Commission (UGC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Janata Bank to avail house building loan for its officials.
The MoU was inked at the UGC Bhaban on Sunday under the government’s house building loan policy, says a statement of UGC.
Teachers, officers and employees of UGC will get the house building loan under this agreement, it added saying that they will get the house building loan from Tk 200,000 upto Tk 7.5 million at a five per cent simple interest.
The government, however, will pay remaining four per cent interest for a period of twenty years, it read.
Dr Ferdous Zaman, Secretary (Current Charge) of UGC and Md Sazzad Hossain, Manager, Janata Bank Ltd, UGC Bhaban Branch, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Professor Dr Muhammed Alamgir, Member, UGC was present as the chief guest while Md Ismail Hossain, Deputy Managing Director, Janata bank Ltd, attended the function as the special guest.
