Two women were killed after being hit by trains at Kosaibari area of Dakshinkhan and Khilkhet in the city.
One of the deceased was identified as Nipa, wife of Swapan Mia of Dakshinkhan area. But the identity of another woman could not be known yet.
Sub-inspector of Airport Railway Station Police out-post Nazrul Islam said a Noakhali-bound train hit Nipa while she was returning to her house from a relative's house at Kosaibari, leaving her on the spot, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, the unidentified woman was also crushed under the wheels of a train in Khilkhet area.
Police recovered the bodies early in the morning and sent those to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
