Two sisters drowned in a pond in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Sadia and Samia, daughters of Sadir Mia of Shohagpur Chowdhurypara. One of them was aged 10 while the other 8.
Local and family sources said the two sisters had been missing since Jum’a prayers.
After a hectic search, locals found their clothes on the bank of the pond in the evening.
Later, they were rescued from the pond and taken to a hospital where attending doctors declared them dead, reports UNB.
