Two launches collide in Buriganga

Two launches have collided on the Buriganga river near Dhaka’s Sadarghat, leaving a man wounded on Thursday morning.

Enamul Haque, chief of Sadarghat Police camp said Dhaka-bound MV Sabbir-2 and Barisal-bound Greenline Water Ways carrying 500 passengers, collided with each other close to the Postogola bridge around 8am.

The injured passenger of Greenline has undergone treatment at the Mitford Hospital.

A bdnews24 report says the bow of Greenline has been damaged in the accident.

BIWTA workers and river police rushed to the scene and started rescue efforts.
