Two people were killed and another was injured when a truck hit a motorbike at Bhulli-Munshirhat Bazar on Thakurgaon-Panchagarh road in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Raju Islam, 27, son of Ismail Hossain of Debipur village and Sazzad Hossain, son of Salauddin of Nehalpara village in the upazila, reports UNB.
The accident occurred in the area around 8:00 pm when the truck hit the motorbike carrying three people during its attempt to overtake a Dhaka-bound coach, leaving two motorbike riders dead on the spot and another injured, said Tanvirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The injured was taken to Sadar hospital from where doctors referred him to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.
