At least two people were killed and 15 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Saitrish area on the Magura-Jhenaidah highway on Friday.
One of the deceased has been identified as Abul Kashem, son of Akbar Mollah of Hazrapur village. The other could not be immediately identified, reports UNB.
According to the fire service and locals, a local bus of Janata Paribahan collided head-on with a truck loaded with vegetables coming from the opposite direction on its way from Magura to Jhenaidah around 3:00 pm.
After the accident both the bus and the truck fell into a roadside ditch leaving two dead.
The injured were taken to Magura Sadar Hospital.
The vehicles have been seized, and a case has been filed at Magura Police Station in this regard, said officer-in-charge of the station Monjurul Alam.
