Two men were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Kumira Gul Ahmed Jute Mills Gate area under Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram district Friday.
The deceased were identified as Md Khokon, 35, driver of a pickup van who hailed from Khulna and Ariful Islam, 40, son of Ruhul Amin of Gohira village under Raozan upazila.
Md Masud Alam, officer in-charge of Kumira Highway Police, said the accident occurred when a pickup van from Khulna collided head-on with a standing truck in the area around 6 am, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and handed over Ariful's body to his relatives, the source added.
A case was filed in this connection, reports BSS.
