Two people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident at Islampur on Rangpur-Bogra highway in Mithapukur upazila on Sunday morning.
Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Mithapukur Police Station, said a Thakurgaon-bound Himel Paribahan bus from Dhaka hit a roadside tree in the area while giving side to a speedy truck coming from opposite direction around 6:30am, leaving two dead on the spot and seven others injured.
Police are working to trace the identities of the dead, reports UNB.
The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
