At least two passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed when a speeding bus hit it from behind on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Teknagarparea in Gazipur city on Monday night.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Quoting locals, Azaduzzaman, in-charge of Nawzor Highway Police Outpost, said a Mymensingh-bound bus hit the auto-rickshaw at around 10:00 pm, leaving six passengers injured.
Police in association with local people took them to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared two of them dead, UNB reported.
The rest were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, the official added.
