A man and a 10-year-old child were killed and five others injured after a bus hit a truck in Lalmonirhat.
The incident took place at around 6:30 am on Friday on the Rangpur-Kurigram Highway in the Sadar upazila, said Mahfuz Alam, chief of the local police station.
The dead were identified as Samiul Islam, 10, son of Shamsul Islam, and Abul Kashem, 45, a truck driver assistant.
The injured were given first aid, reports bdnews24.
“The truck driver’s assistant was repairing a damaged wheel. Samiul and his family were watching the work. At that time, a Kurigram-bound bus from Dhaka hit a truck from behind, leaving Samiul and Kashem dead on the spot,” said OC Alam.
The bus was operated by Haque Paribahan.
