Police in Dhaka and Kurigram have recovered two bodies of college students on Wednesday.
In Dhaka, police recovered the hanging body of a college student from Khalpar area in Keraniganj upazila of the city in the early hours of Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Mahmud Hasan, 22, a third year student of History Department of Kabi Nazrul Government College.
Victim's elder brother Mehedi Hasan said Mahmud used to work in a jewellery shop as a part time worker. He rented out a house in the area five days back after planning to stay there with a friend.
The reason behind his death is not clear, UNB reports citing Mehedi.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sub-inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station Md Shah Alam.
An un-natural death case was filed with the police station.
In Kurigram, another body of a college student was recovered from Kamarpara village in the municipality area of district town.
The victim was Habibur Rahman, 20, an HSC first year student of Collectorate School and College and son of Abdul Hossain of the village. He used to live with his sister's family.
Sub-Inspector Jamiul Islam of Sadar Police Station, said Habibur's hands and legs were found tied up and there were stab injuries on his abdomen.
Upon notification, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Police also recovered a moneybag and two mobiles phones from the spot, the OC added.
Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parveen also visited the murder spot.
