Tripura's new CM phones Hasina, seeks cooperation

Newly elected Chief Minister of Indian state of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb has sought Bangladesh's cooperation for the development of Tripura.

Biplab Kumar talked with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday morning through a phone call before taking oath as Chief Minister in the Indian North East state.

PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured him of Bangladesh's cooperation.

According to UNB, she also recalled the cooperation of the people of Tripura during the 1971 Liberation War.

BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb was elected the new chief minister of Tripura on Tuesday.
