TK Group chairman passes away

TK Group Chairman MA Tayab has passed away in Dhaka city. He was 72. 

He died while undergoing treatment at the United Hospital at around 10:30am. 

Also a freedom fighter, he along with his younger brother MA Kalam established the industrial conglomerate, one of the largest business entities in the country. 

His first Namaj-e-Janaja will be held after Asr prayers at the DOHS mosque in the capital and second one at Jamiatul Falah Mosque in Chittagong city at 10pm.

He will be buried after the third Namaz-e-Janaza at his ancestral village Manasha under Patiya in Chittagong at 9:30am on Sunday.

TK Group of Industries is known for its vegetable oil business. It is the largest producer of edible oil products in the country. The annual turnover of the Group is over US$ 1.0 billion. It also has investments in steel, shipbuilding, pulp and paper, plastics, cement and textiles sectors. The conglomerate is headquartered in Chittagong.

Industrialist Tayab is survived by three sons and two daughters.
