The Transparency International, Bangladesh (TIB) Monday urged the government to ensure transparency and accountability in local resource (LR) fund management under district administrations.
In a statement, the TIB also called for effective implementation of National Integrity Strategy (NIS) at the district levels as per the commitment and announced policies of the government to establish good governance.
The watchdog released the statement ahead of the three-day long district administration conference to be held on July 24 to 26.
The TIB also sent a letter to the cabinet division secretary drawing government attention to this end, the press statement added.
TIB executive director Iftekharuzzaman said proper discussions of the issue in the district administration conference would play important role in taking next steps to establish good-governance in district levels.
He also appreciated the government initiative to raise LR fund and management of it.
