Three Rohingyas get 10-yr jail in explosives case

A Dhaka court on Sunday sentenced three Myanmar nationals to 10 years imprisonment in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act in 2014.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Judge Md Rabiul Alam passed the order and fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer six months more imprisonment.

The three are the suspects in a case filed over Burdwan Blast in India, reports UNB.

The convicts are Md Nur Hossain alias Rafikul Islam of Danespara of Arakan in Myanmar, Yasir Arafat, of Sanghasuradha of Maungdaw in Myanmar and Omar Karim.

All of them were tried in absentia.

Tipped off, Detective Branch of Police arrested the three convicts from Palasi intersection area near Sir Salimullah Muslim Orphanage in Azimpur on November 30, 2014 along with explosives.

Sub-inspector of DB SM Raisul Islam filed the case on the next day.
