Three farm workers killed in Sirajganj road crash

Three farm workers were killed and another injured when a truck crushed a motorbike they were riding on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district.

Witnesses said the accident occurred around 7:00 pm Thursday when a gas cylinder-laden truck crushed the motorcycle with four riders at Mohishluti on their way to Hatikumrul.

The three identified as Swapan Kumar, 25, Ashish Kumar, 28, and Palak, 30. They all, from Bridhamarich village of Bhangura upazila of Pabna district, died on the spot. 

The injured has been admitted to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj.

Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, confirmed the accident and said the bodies were handed over to the victims’ families.

He provided no further details.

A case has been filed in this regard, the OC added.
