A bus accident has killed two men and a child and injured eight others in Khulna’s Dumuria upazila.
The accident took place at Majher Beri area during afternoon on Saturday, said Habil Hossain, officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station.
The dead were identified as Asafur Rahman, 35, Narayan Mandal, 55 and 9-year-old Sakibul.
A Khulna bound bus from Chuknagar struck a rickshaw van and an autorickshaw around 12:30 pm.
Asafur was the driver of the rickshaw van while the other two were his passengers.
Asafur died on the spot while Narayan and Sakibul died on their way to hospital, said OC Habil.
Seven to eight people were reportedly injured in the crash, of them Sahinur Rahman, Kabir Sarder, Aminul Islam, Afroza Begum, Ata Hossain and Sultan, have been taken to Dumuria Health Complex.
Three of the victims were in critical condition and were later transferred to Khulna Medical College Hospital, reports bdnews24.
Police however managed to seize the bus but the driver remains fled.
