Three people were killed while a handful got injured in two separate road accidents across country.
A head on collision between an oil tanker and a truck in Choto Kamaldah area of Mirsharai upazila in Chittagong left two people dead and two others injured.
The deceased were identified as truck driver Abdul Kashem, hailing from Feni and security guard Md Kashem.
Jasim, an official of Sitakundu fire service, said the accident took place when the oil tanker collided head-on with the truck while overtaking each other around 7 am, leaving one dead on the spot and three others injured.
The other person died on the way to hospital, reports UNB.
In a separate accident, a motorcyclist got killed at Shahpur on Kuti-Chaumohoni regional road of Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Dulal Miah, 32, son of late Abdul Rashid of Charnal Dakkhinpara village of the upazila, according to UNB news agency.
According to Mohiuddin, officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station, a pickup van rammed the motorcyclist from opposite direction, leaving the victim dead on the spot.
