Three bikers die in Natore road mishap

Three men riding a motorcycle were killed on early Sunday after the two-wheeler fell into a road side ditch at Duaria in Lalpur upazila of Natore.

The deceased were identified as Foysal, Sajib and Sohan of Razapur area in Baraigram upazila.

The motorbike hit a roadside tree, leaving them dead on the spot, said Selim Reza, officer-in-charge of Lalpur Police Station, UNB reports.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to local hospital morgue.

The number of road crashes and casualties on Bangladesh’s roads and highways marked a sharp rise in November last as 439 people were killed and 682 others injured in 417 accidents during the month, according to a report by the Road Safety Foundation (RSF), an organisation working to ensure safer roads.

The report was prepared based on accident news carried by seven national dailies, five online news portals and the electronic media.
