Tailback on Dhaka-Chattogram highway stretches 26 kilometres

A 26-km tailback was created on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway from Feni on Friday, causing immense sufferings to the commuters.

Several hundred vehicles were stuck on both sides on the busy highway stretching from Chouddagram municipality to Fatehpur rail crossing in Feni district.

The vehicles were moving slowly on the highway due to the ongoing work on the rail overpass in Fatehpur rail crossing.

Rahmat Ullah, additional superintendent of highway police in Cumilla region, blamed the construction work for the traffic jam, reports UNB.

Though the highway police are trying to ease the vehicular movement, it could not be possible for them to bring the situation under control for the construction work, he added.
