Police arrested a former councillor from his house at Mollagram under Golapganj upazila in Sylhet on Friday evening on charges of planning to commit acts of sabotage.
The arrestee was identified as Golam Mostafa Musa, 39, son of late Fazir Ali and leader of Golapganj upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, according to UNB news agency.
Tipped off, police raided Mostafa’s house and arrested him, said AK Fazlul Haque Shibly, officer-in-charge of Golapganj Model Police Station.
