SYLHET, Aug 09: An eco-park will be set up in Bisnakandi area on the Sylhet-Meghalaya border.
The Sylhet divisional administration has taken up the programme.
Some 34.59 acres of land have already been selected for the project to enhance the beauty of the location.
Protecting bio-diversity of the area is one of the main reasons of the initiative, a concerned official said on Wednesday.
In this connection, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Biswajit Kumar Paul planted some saplings at a function in the selected area.
Sources said some 10,000 saplings will be planted in the area.
Besides, the authority would take steps for raising facilities for the visitors.

Rustompur union council Chairman Shihab Uddin Ahmed said the locals have expressed their gratitude to the authority for the initiative.
