Quota protesters have started an indefinite class and exam boycott programme at all educational institutions across the country demanding the immediate issuance of a gazette abolishing the existing quota system in government jobs.

They called the programme on Sunday as the government failed to issue the gazette by the time they set until afternoon of that day.

As part of the programme, several hundred of students of Dhaka University staged demonstrations at Dhaka University, boycotting classes and examinations Monday morning.

Quota reformists at Chittagong University held a sit-in programme starting from around 7:00am. They also stopped a shuttle train service at Sholoshahar number 2 gate area around 8:00am.

Quota protests have been being held under the banner of the Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Alliance.
