A student of Titumir College died while a man was injured after a bus hit a motorcycle on Mayor Hanif Flyover in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sadia Afrin Urmi, 22, a third-year marketing student of Government Titumir College, according to police.
The man, Nazmul Islam, sustained leg injuries.
On the flyover, a passenger bus hit Najmul’s bike from behind. Urmi, who sustained serious injuries, was brought to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctor declared her dead around 4:30pm.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Md Bacchu Mia said Urmi's body was kept in the hospital’s morgue for post-mortem, adding Nazmul sustained injuries in his hands and feet.
Police arrested the bus driver and seized the bus.
