A college student died after falling off the rooftop of a building in the city's Ambarkhana area on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Russel, a student of Madan Mohan College and hailed from Moulvibazar district.
Quoting witnesses, Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport Police Station said, Russel used to live in a mess in 'Barkat Bhaban' and slipped from the rooftop of the building and fell on a live electric wire of the adjacent building around 11 pm that left him dead on the spot.
On information, a fire fighting unit rushed to spot and recovered his charred body, reports UNB.
Police sent the body to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
